The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Finished this book two days ago and it was an excellent read. It's about a Swedish journalist and a young private investigator who end up trying to solve a 40 year old murder after the victims grandfather enlists their help. Both the main characters are excellent and you really form a bound with them as the story unfolds, and what a story it is. Its filled with twists and turns and will have you guessing and questioning everything and everyone as it unravels. There are few books that have left me in such a state of suspense as I've read them but this just sucks you into the story and you won't want to leave until it's over and the mystery has been solved. Its recently seen the Swedish language film adaption come out over here and rumours abound that David Fincher will be handling the English language version (a fantastic prospect if ever there was one) so I'd advise you to pick up the book as soon as possible to avoid hearing the story from someone else.
There are three books in the series and I can't wait to pick up the other two. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Heres the trailer for the Swedish film adaption which gives a better idea of what its all about.
