Scott Pilgrim Vs the World

Having never really read many comics or graphic novels I've only recently heard of Scott Pilgrim, mainly due to the upcoming film, the game has however, been on my radar since it was announced by Ubisoft. The story follows Scott as he does battle with the ex boyfriends of his love interest, a girl called Ramona Flowers. A download only title on the playstation network and soon Xbox live it's a side scrolling beat-em-up in the style of "Streets of Rage" and other similar titles from the 16 bit age. I played through the demo this morning and was really impressed. Firstly it looks gorgeous, if like me you reminisce about your favourite 16 bit games only to be horrified at how they look today then this could be the game for you. It's like playing your favourite retro game and the rose tinted glasses stay on. It looks great and captures the look of the games it seeks to emulate brilliantly. The music to is excellent, quirky and stylish yet never getting repetitive. As for gameplay, well if you've ever played a side scrolling beat-em-up you'll know exactly what to expect. Best of all the game lets you team up with three friends to tackle the story in co-op. A great game and I'm sure it won't be the last in the series.
